ITINERARY

Day 1 : Grounding With Pachamama

2pm: Arrive at Willka T’ika, check-in, get settled, sip on a complimentary herbal tea and relax in the gardens.

5pm: Welcome circle, Finding Your Roots slow-flow & meditation in the Root Chakra garden

7pm: Dinner


Day 2: DHARMA & DIVINITY

8am: Morning breathwork, meditation & practice - Discovering Your Dharma

10am: Breakfast

11am - 5pm: Free time- explore the nearby small towns via foot or tuk-tuk, meditate in the gardens, get a treatment at the spa

5pm: Breathing Space - Yin Yoga and Reiki practice at the Lucuma tree

7pm: Dinner

8pm: Bonfire and Release ceremony

WHAT TO EXPECT

Imagine waking up and looking out of your bedroom window to see vast, green mountains all around you. You walk out of you room and feel the energy of the 1,000 year old Lucuma tree and 7 Chakra gardens all around you. Welcome to Willka T’ika, a retreat center unparalleled in its energy and beauty.

The first 5 days of the retreat will be spent here, where we will begin each morning with breath work, meditation, and yoga inside of the gorgeous, light yoga studio. Next up is a delicious, fresh breakfast spread served with vegetarian food that is grown on the property. The afternoons will consist of adventures like whitewater rafting and visiting the Pisac markets OR leisure time to lay in the garden or get a treatment at the spa.

Each day will end with a relaxing restorative or yin class with reiki energy healing and a nourishing group dinner also grown right on the property. Some evenings will end with a group activity like a moonlight bonfire & star gazing.

Next up is a 4-day trek along the Salkantay trail toward Machu Picchu. This trek carries you through __ ecosystems in just 4 days. From the mountains, to a glacier, to the Amazon rainforest, your heart will open up wide with love for the beauty that mother earth has provided us.

THE RETREAT CENTER: WILLKA T’IKA

25 years ago Carol Cumes created the magical, other worldly Willka T’ika. Situated in the center of the Sacred Valley of Peru, you can feel the energy of the valley added with seven separate Chakra gardens and a 1,000 year old Lucuma tree the moment you step onto the property. It is absolutely breathtaking.

The you eat food at Willka T’ika is sure to be some of the best you’ll ever had. They have their own garden, chickens, and cows on the property and the result is the freshest, healthiest, most delicious vegetarian food you can find.

There is a library, meditation room, and fully stocked yoga studio as well as a full-service spa and outdoor star gazing baths. Trust us, you’ll want one of those. The stars are bright in the sky at night as we are far from any big cities.

THE YOGA

This retreat will host a variety of yoga practices in the yoga shala, including: dynamic vinyasa flows, meditative restorative and yin classes infused with reiki healing energy, workshop-style classes to enhance your practice, and guided meditations fueled by pranayama practices.

THE ADVENTURES

During our time at Willka T’ika we will spend a day whitewater rafting in the river of the sacred valley. We will also spend a day visiting the vibrant Pisac markets where you can shop and try local food. On our way home, we will stop at the Cochahuasi Animal Sanctuary to hang out with the alpacas and other animals that are there for rehabilitation.

THE SALKANTAY TREK TO MACHU PICCHU

Covering 46 miles, the Salkantay trek provides some of the most breathtaking views you will ever experience. From valleys, to mountain tops, to the amazon rainforest, you will have the opportunity to experience multiple ecosystems in just a few days. The first two nights we will sleep under the stars and on the last night of the trek, we will stay in the vibrant town of Aguas Calientes, where the next morning we will be taken up to see Machu Picchu at dawn. 3 meals are provided each day. After we visit Machu Picchu, we will be taken to Cusco where we will spend our last night as a group.

I am a yoga teacher, mind-body wellness coach, and Reiki practitioner based out of San Diego.

I have been in the fitness space since 2009 and in 2014 I decided to go to Bali to do my YTT in order to learn more about yoga and meditation.

This experience turned out to be so much more, and I was hooked. :)  I suddenly had a newfound awareness and perspective of my body, and I was able to heal emotional traumas that I had been bottling up for years. It was truly eye-opening and forever changed the way that I looked at physical movement.

Since then, I have been teaching yoga, personal training, and practicing Reiki in San Diego, as well as leading yoga retreats around the world.

My teaching style stems from the variety of physical movement practices in my background and can be described as creative, athletic, and intuitive. I focus strongly on breath, alignment, and reconnecting the body and mind.

My ultimate goal for this retreat is to provide a space for you to reflect, heal, discover your highest self, and to find a sense of mind-body balance that you can take home with you.

Nazli Takesh

I grew up in a home that encouraged active living and healthy eating. Fast forward to summer of 2013, when after years of practice I decided to participate in a 200 hour yoga teacher training. Immediately finding a space where I could share my passion, and encourage others to explore this practice, I began my (forever ongoing) evolution of growing as a yoga teacher. I now have over 500 hours of Advanced Teacher Training, am a Reiki Practitioner, and Nutrition Consultant. I place an emphasis on conscious breathing, and tie that in with physical exploration of what the human body can do. I promote structure to safely work through the physical practice, but also space to explore on your own to see what works in each individual body. I emphasize a light hearted vibe where as a community we can laugh and work towards goals together. Each class will offer some inspiration to link the physical practice with a greater intention that can seep off of the mat.  Aside from my involvement in the yoga world, you can usually find me hiking up mountains, swimming and surfing in oceans, cooking, and hanging with my boyfriend and the world’s most adorable puggle! 

I believe a holistic approach to health and wellbeing is critical, and during this retreat I aim to help you tap into each aspect of your being. Through the physical we tap into the more subtle, and I hope to provide you with tools to spend these 10 days elevating yourself in every way: to nurture what needs nurturing, to challenge what needs change, and to feel encouraged to take home the bliss that can be found when you are truly present, accepting, and loving of you :)

 GETTING THERE

 It’s simple! Fly into Cuzco Airport (CUZ) and we will have transportation provided to pick you up.

The airport is very close to the center of Cusco, so when the retreat ends, you can take a 10 minute taxi ride back to the airport.
